| This year, Pulpcon will celebrate Jack Williamson and the 70th
Anniversary of John W. Campbell's ascension to the editorship of Astounding Science
Fiction/Analog Science Fiction & Fact. Complementing this presentation will also
be a DVD interview of Jack Williamson conducted by the famed science fiction writer James
Gunn during the 1970s. A presentation on Astounding will include a slide show featuring many of the pivotal issues of the magazine while under the helm of Campbell. Guests of honor will be announced pending confirmation of their appearance. *********************** Location Pulpcon will again be held in the Dayton Convention center at the corner of Fifth and Main, Thursday-Sunday, July 31-August 3, 2008. The Crowne Plaza Hotel directly across Fifth Street, is connected to the Convention Center and to free parking for guests by an overhead corridor enclosed from possible inclement weather. Phone 937-224-0800 for reservations. Be sure to ask for the Pulpcon rate of $99 (ends on July 8th) and to have your name on the Pulpcon room list. For free transportation from the airport phone ahead to the hotel your flight and arrival time or call its number when you reach the airport. *********************** Auctions Don't forget the deadline to get items entered into Friday night auction. All auction material should be sent to Jack Cullers who can be reached via email. Auction material should include items ranging from general magazines such as Adventure, Argosy, and Short Stories to more thematic (air, mystery, science fiction, western) and hero pulps, both hardback and paperback books. Sellers list of items to be entered in the no-charge Friday auction must reach us by July 21st. Lists mat be edited if necessary. Pulpcon takes 10% of the selling price of all items sold in our other auctions and 10% of the minimum if a lot does not sell. Dealers A partial list of dealers can be found here.
